Larry Westfall is a co-worker of Scotty's wife Krista, and he and his brother Bill (a policeman down in Kent area) did the ride together. We hooked up at the start, but only ran into them once during the ride.

Kathy and Malcolm we met when checking into our hotel. We kept running into them at virtually every rest stop and managed to find them at the finish line, too. They had driven 14 hours from Salt Lake City to participate in the ride; Malcolm's sister had recently moved to Portland, and had driven them to Seattle for the start of the ride!
