OSI Surprise
If you want to remember how far back Microsoft's hegemony goes, you merely need to look at this startup screen from an Ohio Scientific, Inc., C1P. My model was slightly earlier and didn't display the message at startup. Also, this guy's machine has 16K (yes K) of RAM (with 768 bytes being used for some other purpose); I had only 8K.
